Production for The Witcher has already wrapped but we are learning some interesting details about what happened behind the scenes in Netflix's new series. For instance, an important scene involving Geralt of Rivia and his good friend Jaskier (or Dandelion) was reportedly shot at the Tata Castle in Hungary.
Most of the series was actually filmed in Poland. However, Redanian Intelligence reports that Henry Cavill and co-star Joey Batey were whisked away to Hungary so they could film a scene at the Tata Castle.
The report also pointed out that the castle was set up so it appears that there were two moons above it. Additionally, the set was usually covered in smoke.
So which scene from the books was being shot in Hungary? There are speculations that it could be Geralt and Jaskier coming upon the town of Rinde in The Last Wish. If this is so, both characters could be stopped at the gates and spend the night at a gatehouse. It is here where they meet the elves Chireadan and Errdil as well as the half-elf knight name Vratimir.
It is still unclear if any of the elves (and half-elf) will actually appear in The Witcher but there is one other character who is expected to show up in Rinde. This is where Geralt learns about Yennefer of Vengerberg and decides that he should seek her help.
The Witcher has not yet been given an official premiere date. Nevertheless, the series is expected to air on Netflix later this year.
