Urza is back in the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set Modern Horizons, and now, the card featuring the high artificer is back but not as a planeswalker.
Today, the Command Zone has revealed Urza, Lord High Artificer. Check out the new legendary card:
When Modern Horizons releases next month, this card will be legal in the Modern format so it might see play in some artifact-heavy decks. Being able to make a Construct artifact creature when it hits the field is a nice ability, and it does two other things: give you blue mana when you tap an untapped artifact you control, and you can pay 5 mana to shuffle your library, exile the top card, and you may play that card without paying its mana cost. This card will most likely see more play in Commander format. This would make a decent Commander in a mono-blue artifact-focused deck.
Two other blue cards from Modern Horizons have been revealed: Chillerpillar and Pondering Mage. Check them out:
Earlier today, Wizards of the Coast revealed the five new enemy-colored "Canopy lands".
What do you think about Urza and the other new cards from Modern Horizons?
Modern Horizons will be released on June 14. Prerelease events will take place on June 8 and 9. The prerelease events will be Draft, not Sealed.
