Thankfully, the delay won’t be for long, as the show is set to return at the end of the month. Still, this delay is the latest in the show’s string of delays that date back to winter 2023.
Misfit of Demon King Academy Season 2 Episode 19 Gets Delayed
The Misfit of Demon King Academy season 2 began airing in winter 2023, a season that was marred by numerous anime delays, with big titles such as Nier: Automata Ver1.1a and Ayakashi Triangle getting delayed for months.
Soon, Misfit of Demon King Academy joined them, as the show stopped its broadcast on February 12, 2023. It soon got a broadcast restart in the summer, with the show’s first half ending on September 24, 2023.
While it seemed that the show’s original plan was a consecutive release for its two cours, the second season was soon split into two parts, with part 2 finally premiering on April 13, 2024.
The show has continued to get new episodes weekly, but that will change soon, as the show’s 19th episode has been delayed by one week.
This delay was announced on the anime’s official website. There, no specific details were mentioned regarding a reason for the delay.
What is confirmed is that a special version of episode 14 with audio commentary will be shown on the anime’s May 24 TV timeslot.

New Release Date Confirmed for Misfit of Demon King Academy’s Latest Episode
On the delay announcement page, it was confirmed that The Misfit of Demon King Academy season 2 episode 19 will air on Friday, May 31, 2024.
Given that the show’s episodes are released on Crunchyroll soon after the Japanese broadcast, fans outside of Japan will also need to wait until the 31st before the show becomes available to stream.
Currently, there’s no indication that there will be future delays. After all, the winter 2023 delays were accompanied by lots of reports regarding troubled productions.
Hopefully, there will be no future delays, but some fans are already fearing another, as many regard its production as being “cursed” given its history of getting delays.
