Warner Bros. has finally released the teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated film A Minecraft Movie, and it's already getting divisive reactions from fans.
Next year, the film adaptation of the hit video game will finally arrive in theaters after several years of development. Jason Momoa and Jack Black are leading the ensemble cast.
Fans of the video game have been looking forward to the film as they are curious to see how it will translate to the screen considering that the source material has iconic visuals.
A Minecraft Movie Teaser Trailer Receives Mixed Reactions
Today, the official teaser trailer for A Minecraft Movie was released, giving fans their first look at the highly-anticipated film adaptation.
The minute-long preview showed us a glimpse at the main characters that will be played by Momoa, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen as well as Black's take on Steve, the game's iconic mascot.
However, the teaser has received divisive reactions from fans online as they were not impressed by the film's visuals and the animation style of the CGI characters.
The introduction of Black as Steve was also not well-received by fans as they started to question whether he was the right casting for the role.
While the film is seemingly going to capture the design of the video game's world, it didn't translate well for fans and it is considered to be a disappointing preview.

Given the mixed reactions that the teaser has gotten so far, it would be interesting to see whether the filmmakers will respond to the criticisms and make some changes to the visuals while post-production is ongoing similar to Sonic the Hedgehog.
