Fans were fairly surprised when it was announced that Andy Serkis would be the director of Venom 2. While the first film was far from perfect, it did leave an impact on fans and there are those who are genuinely excited to see what the sequel has in store, especially with Carnage getting teased. Of course, a hero is nothing without a supporting cast so it only makes sense that Michelle Williams would be returning.
Yahoo posted an interview with Williams and the actress immediately addressed concerns about the movie, saying "I'm in." Though her portrayal of Anne was just okay, seeing her as She-Venom was pretty cool and it will be interesting to see if that gets explored in the sequel since Eddie is going to need all the help he can get against Carnage.
Williams also expressed excitement on working with Serkis. Here's what she had to say about the writer/actor:
"I'm such a fan of Andy's, and I'm so inspired by what he's been able to accomplish. He's so gifted in such a specific way, and I'm very excited to learn from him and be around him."
As of this writing, no release date for Venom 2 has been announced. Expect the sequel to have a more unique title since numbers in films have been unpopular in recent times.
