While the Deadpool threequel serves as the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' Marvel entry, did you know he formerly had a dream MCU role?

The Interstellar actor explained on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via Business Insider) that he was always a big fan of Lou Ferrigno's 70s TV show, The Incredible Hulk.

He detailed that he "wanted" to play Bruce Banner, but Marvel had different plans in mind when he reached out. The studios told him, "No, thank you." But this was not his first time trying to fit himself into the MCU.

Marvel appeared to have kept their eye on the Oscar-winning actor and turned out to be the top choice to take on the part of Star Lord's father in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which he passed on doing.

By 2014, McConaughey's name echoed in the halls of MCU and was potentially portraying Doctor Strange when Benedict Cumberbatch had scheduling issues.

Ultimately, the 54-year-old half-officially made his MCU debut in Deadpool and Wolverine, which isn't something to sneeze at. If anything, the Cowboy-pool actor's southern drawl fits perfectly on the Wild Wild West variant, as fans easily recognized him for his signature accent:
