The Deadpool 3 star's San Diego Comic-Con experience was one to remember. Jennifer Garner had been stuck for an hour in the elevator, joking that Deadpool and Wolverine would come to save them.
Deadpool and Wolverine Star Ends Up Singing 'Like a Prayer' After Elevator Mishap
In celebration of Jennifer Garner returning on the big screens as Elektra in Deadpool and Wolverine, The Adam Project star attended the SDCC this 2024, only to unexpectedly get stuck in a hotel elevator for over an hour.
The actress updated the situation via her Instagram and captured a series of clips on how the incident escalated.
"Hey, guys? We're stuck on this elevator," To make light of the circumstance, Garner jokingly promoted needing the unlikely mutant duo to rescue them, "I could use a Wolverine. I could use a Deadpool. I could use someone."
11 minutes in, she described the elevator growing "toasty" enough to go "sphitzy", adding that "I need to blot" considering the conditions of the jammed ride.
By the 35-minute mark, Garner recalled from an episode of The Office or Brooklyn Nine-Nine one crucial piece of advice when they have to wait out for help, "I think I heard on an episode or something that you're supposed to sit. So, we're sitting."
It was only a matter of time that the longer they were in the shaft, the more they had to keep their spirits up. In this case, Garner sang "99 Bottles of Beer" as they contacted 911 after 45 minutes.
At one point, Garner and the rest of her stuck crew sang along to Madonna's "Like a Prayer" to pay a nod to promote her brief cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine.
The humor doesn't fly over the passengers' heads as the firefighters eventually arrive an hour and 12 minutes later to pry open the elevator doors, earning a hilarious lesson to it all from The Matrix's Gina Torres, "OMG! Let that be a lesson to all you kids out there! Always pray to Madonna!"
Ironically, 'Elektra' staying calm in the elevator mirrors what she did in the threequel that saved Deadpool and Wolverine before facing Cassandra Nova.
