Matt Reeves teases a major villain set to appear in The Batman Part II after sharing a first look at its production on X.

So far, DC Studios has yet to reveal the sequel’s main antagonist, aside from Marvel star Sebastian Stan’s Harvey Dent, who eventually becomes Two-Face.

With an intriguing hashtag and growing fan theories, will audiences finally discover who the main villain of The Batman Part II really is?

Who is the New Villain in The Batman Part II?

Matt Reeves drops two photos from the production of The Batman Part II, showing car tires moving through the snow.

“#SnowTires,” he simply captioned the snaps.

As expected, many got hyped by the posts, earning nearly 2,000 comments, with the director himself responding to some of them.

“Is this testing for The Batman 2, Matt?” asked @WayneG1939, to which Reeves agreed. “Sure is,” he said.

@veryrare_ns then shared an image of Batman from the comic books in snowy weather with the caption “It’s time,” which Reeves also acknowledged with a heart emoji.

In addition, he confirmed @TheBatmanSagaNW’s assumption that the second The Batman Part II would feature a live-action Caped Crusader in snowy conditions. “Indeed, it is,” he replied.

With these confirmations, it looks like The Batman Part II may be heading into a winter-set storyline and introduce Mister Freeze.

Another clue supporting this is that The Penguin ends during winter, and the film is expected to pick up shortly after the events of the hit HBO series.

That said, it may also be the right time to finally introduce Victor Fries in Reeves’ Elseworlds franchise.

Mr. Freeze

From a gimmick villain, Mr. Freeze has evolved into one of Batman’s most complex and sympathetic foes.

Also known as Dr. Victor Fries, he is an expert cryogenics engineer. However, after a laboratory accident, he is forced to wear a sub-zero suit to survive and uses a freeze gun to fight his enemies.

But unlike many of Batman’s other adversaries, Mr. Freeze is not a metahuman. He is a genius scientist driven to crime in an attempt to find a cure for his terminally ill wife, Nora, who has been cryogenically frozen.

He is often portrayed as a tragic, cold-hearted anti-villain whose actions are motivated by his desperate obsession to save Nora.

Mr. Freeze is a staple of the DC Comics universe and has appeared in films, television, and video games, notably voiced by Michael Ansara.

The character was originally introduced for the 1960s Batman TV series and was portrayed by actors such as George Sanders, Otto Preminger, and Eli Wallach. In film, he appeared in Batman & Robin (1997), played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Mr. Freeze’s most recent live-action appearance was in the Gotham TV series, where he was portrayed by Nathan Darrow.
