- Quick Answer: Marvel's Zodiac is an upcoming international espionage series for Disney+ that may unite the MCU's biggest spy agencies and secret organizations.
Marvel could unite the MCU’s biggest spy agencies, including S.H.I.E.L.D. and HYDRA, in its upcoming Disney+ series, Zodiac.
The MCU has already established a vast network of spies and secret organizations across its movies and television shows. Now, the upcoming series could finally bring them together. So, how could this happen?
How Could MCU Spy Agencies Unite in Zodiac?

As new casting and story details about Zodiac emerge, they hint at a major international conspiracy that could soon unfold in the MCU.
According to Marvel Television chief Brad Winderbaum, the series is “a globetrotting, international espionage show about secrets and lies and betrayals and secret acts of loyalty and an insane cast of characters.”
The series’ mysterious logo, which features a modified S.H.I.E.L.D. insignia, also appears to contain hidden references to the agency and the Great Wheel, a secret organization from Marvel Comics.
In Jonathan Hickman and Brian Michael Bendis’s 2009 comic book series Secret Warriors, the Great Wheel is a secret society of 12 intelligence agents brought together by Leonardo da Vinci in 1961, with each member representing a different zodiac sign.
The group even includes Nick Fury, who could appear in the show given his prominent role as a spy in the MCU.
The Great Wheel has secret connections to S.H.I.E.L.D., HYDRA, Leviathan, and the Hand. It was also responsible for the creation of Life Model Decoy technology.
With Marvel seemingly incorporating the Great Wheel into the letter “O” of the Zodiac logo, this could be a hint that the secret organization is finally making its way into the MCU.
What Is Zodiac About?

Knight Edge Media reported that Zodiac would have a dark tone, drawing comparisons to the drama series The Americans.
The series has also been compared to The X-Files, potentially exploring different cases while building toward a larger mystery, and Slow Horses, without needing a “big potato” hero to show up every week.
Production on the new series is scheduled to begin in London in spring 2027, with a Disney+ premiere planned for 2028.
Although the cast has yet to be revealed, Brad Winderbaum has teased an “insane cast of characters.” This could include Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury.
With the MCU already home to plenty of established spies and intelligence operatives, the series could also bring back Olivia Colman as Sonya Falsworth, who oversaw MI6 operations in Secret Invasion and could help introduce MI-13, the superhero branch of British intelligence.
Martin Freeman could also return as CIA agent Everett Ross, whose former wife, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), has become a major player in the MCU's intelligence community.
Daniel Brühl's Baron Helmut Zemo could even take on a role similar to Baron Strucker's in the Great Wheel. Zemo was last seen in prison on the Raft in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where he arranged for the remaining Flag Smashers to be killed without leaving his cell.
However, fans should take these assumptions with a grain of salt, as none of these potential appearances have been confirmed.
