- Quick Answer: Marvel’s upcoming Zodiac series will reportedly adopt a dark British spy-thriller tone, featuring three original leads in a grounded, London-based espionage storyline.
A new report suggested that Marvel's upcoming Zodiac series will lean into a British spy-thriller tone, a first in the MCU.
Last week, we learned that Marvel Television is officially working on a new TV series titled Zodiac that will begin production next year. Details were scarce, and fans have been wondering what they have in store for the project and whether it will have a strong connection to the rest of the MCU.
Zodiac Series Will Be a British Spy Thriller, According to Report

A recent report from Knight Edge Media claimed that Marvel Television's upcoming Zodiac series will be in the style of a "dark British spy thriller."
It will be the first MCU series with such a tone, given that all of their TV projects in the past have revolved around the action/sci-fi/fantasy genre. It looks like Zodiac will be more grounded and focus on human spy characters that just so happen to live in a comic book world.
Additionally, casting is expected to begin soon and will have three British main leads: two male and one female. The trio is expected to be original and not based on the comics.
The series is also being compared to The Americans, another spy thriller series from the last decade.
Fans have been speculating that the series may have some connection to Agents of SHIELD, but the report did not give a strong suggestion, and the details hint that the series will likely be more independent given that it will take place abroad, specifically in London.
Marvel Television chief Brad Winderbaum teased the project to Collider, "I’ll say this — it’s a globetrotting, international espionage show about secrets and lies and betrayals and secret acts of loyalty and an insane cast of characters."
What's Next in the MCU TV Slate?
The next MCU series is VisionQuest. It follows Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, who is now in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron.
His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision's son reincarnated. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron's influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he's to survive.
The cast includes Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T'Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, Emily Hampshire, and James D'Arcy.
The series will premiere on October 13 on Disney+. There are eight episodes in total.
