Marvel's What If animated series for Disney+ is looking pretty good.
Marvel Studios just recently debuted new footage from the What If series at this year's D23 Expo over the weekend and Marvel fans got to see a lot of interesting alternate-universe scenarios like Captain Carter, Black Star-Lord, Marvel Zombies, and a whole lot more.
Collider was present during Marvel's What If presentation at D23 and according to the site, Marvel's video for What If started with the voice of Uatu The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright) going "Time. It's more than a linear path. It's a prison of endless possibility...follow me and dare to face the unknown. And ponder the question, What if?"
The publication describes the animation style as a "huge visual change from the big-screen MCU stories," giving Marvel fans "heavy, heavy Pixar vibes" all throughout that remind viewers of the movements and motions in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
The footage included a universe where Peggy Carter receives the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers, Star-Lord is revealed to be black, and Buck Barne's gets in the middle of the fight with a Marvel zombie.
A few screenshots of Captain Carter have made their way online, you can check them out down here:
The animation style seems pretty cool, though we're hoping that Marvel releases the footage online so everyone gets to see how the What If series is actually going to look like. Based on the description though, it sounds like we're in for a pretty wild ride.
What If? doesn't have an exact release date yet, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
