Marvel’s Goal Was Always To Create The World’s Biggest Film With Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame has been nothing but major success for Marvel. Not only was the film well-received by fans and critics, but it also did exceptionally well at the box office, outpacing Avatar to become the win the prestige of becoming the highest-grossing film of all time.

Now, we learn that Marvel always wanted to give James Cameron's science fiction epic a run for its money. Speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com to help promote Endgame's home media release next week, the film's executive producer Trinh Tran detailed the mindset that Marvel had working on Avengers: Infinity War's sequel.

Not only did Marvel imagine creating the biggest superhero movie that it's ever made, but the studio also imagined creating the biggest production that's ever been seen in Hollywood.

"I think it's always been in Kevin [Feige's] mind that one day we would all get a chance to be able to make Infinity War and Endgame," Tran details. "And that was just a dream over 10 years ago. He really hoped that one day that would happen. I can't remember specifically at what point we started talking about Infinity War and Endgame in detail, but it must've been in one of the movies when we were shooting with the Russos."

It eventually did happen. After ten years of introducing characters, gathering them and weaving them together into one universe, Marvel was able to create Endgame, an epic comic book movie that brought in an unbelievable number of heroes on the big screen.

The climactic battle between the Avengers and the armies of Thanos (Josh Brolin) was absolutely stunning. Viewers couldn't help but cheer when everyone came in to join the fight.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD. The film's home media release is scheduled for August 13.
