Marvel Studios Looking for a Chinese-American Woman to Play 'Secret Agent' for a Movie

Though The Infinity Saga may be over, the Marvel Studios train continues to chug. Black Widow is currently in production with several other shows set to begin soon. Just in, the film is said to be casting a new role for an upcoming movie.

According to Discussing Film, the studio is looking to cast a Chinese-American woman between 20-40 for the role codenamed "Fang." No other details have been revealed about the character, but it's said that the part is of a secret agent.

The site speculates that the character could be for the upcoming Shang-Chi, and it's possible that this "Fang" is a codename for the character of Leiko Wu, an MI-6 agent who is a love interest of Clive Reston—another character who has been confirmed to be in the film.

There's also a rumor going around that the movie will feature the dragon Fin Fang Foom, so the codename could be a possible allusion to that. If Marvel is going to be introducing magical dragons in the film, I think adding him in Shang-Chi would be the right move.

Then again, this is just speculation on the fans' part. This ‘Fang' could be appearing in Doctor Strange 2 or even Eternals. What if this character is supposed to be the new Phil Coulson that ties the universe together? That's just my guess at least.

We don't know when this ‘Fang' character will show up, but the next MCU film is Black Widow, and it's set for a release on May 1, 2020.
