Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse wowed fans with its presentation of the multiverse and the many Spider-Men that existed within it. Spider-Man: Far From Home tried to present a similar concept with Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio who claimed to be from a different dimension.
Sure, Mysterio being from another plane in the multiverse might have actually been a fraud, but it's another step into the possibility of having a potential live-action Spider-Verse.
Speaking in an interview with i09 Gizmodo, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked whether the Marvel Cinematic Universe could be likened to Into the Spider-Verse now that it has Far From Home.
"Well, I don't know, most of that's up to Sony," Feige told the publication.
Still, the Marvel producer doesn't deny that idea of having a multiverse in the MCU.
"I mean I think the notion of the multiverse is fun. We first made reference to the multiverse in Doctor Strange. I think it's something we'll be playing with in our own way. Obviously, we mentioned it in Far From Home but [Mysterio's] not telling the truth but I think that's a fun storytelling opportunity for us just the way they've done for years in the comics," Feige explained.
It would definitely be interesting to see more Spider-Men swing into the MCU, but it might take some time considering that Sony's building a Spider-Man universe of its own with its SUMC.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is currently screening in cinemas.
