Kevin Feige Discusses THAT Shocking Return in Spider-Man: Far From Home

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME

Spider-Man: Far From Home isn't just a great follow-up to Avengers: Endgame; it's a genuinely good Spider-Man film that takes a lot of risks. While the film does have bits and pieces of the MCU formula, the first post-credits sequence changes the character's status quo in a massive way, guaranteeing things will never be the same (ironically, unlike a Marvel comic book).

During the mid-credits scene, Mysterio frames Spider-Man, making it seem like the wallcrawler killed him. As if that wasn't enough, Mysterio also reveals to the world that Spider-Man is in fact Peter Parker. And who decides to reveal all of this; J.Jonah Jameson in his MCU debut and he's played by J.K. Simmons, who portrayed this same character during Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Kevin Feige expanded on Jameson's new role in the MCU. It seems like Jameson's character will be similar to what it was in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon and Spider-Man PS4, where he won't be a newspaper publisher but will instead have a presence as an Alex Jones-style host of The Daily Bugle.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is now showing in theaters.
