Marvel Stars Want Tom Holland’s Spider-Man To Stay In The MCU, Too

There was a whole lot of heartbreak last week when word broke out that Sony's Spider-Man arrangements with Disney had fallen through after the studios' failed to reach an agreement. Of course, Marvel fans weren't the only ones devastated by the news. Marvel stars like Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Sebastian Stan, and Anthony Mackie don't want to see Spider-Man actor Tom Holland swing away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe either.

Various Marvel stars got to speak with Variety during Disney's D23 Expo over the weekend, and the publication decided to ask the Avengers: Endgame actors and actresses what they thought of the idea of Marvel losing Spider-Man to the Sony and Disney split.

"That's so sad," Scarlett Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen told the entertainment news outlet, "It really is sad. Tom Holland is the greatest Spider-Man to me."

"He actually has that youthful energy and the ability, physically and emotionally, and he's just been incredible," the actress added. "And it's been really lucky that we've been able to work with him and I think it's a big loss, and it's really too bad."

Paul Bettany seems to share the same sentiment, feigning a weeping tone of voice, saying "Yeah, I can't talk about that."

Even though Falcon actor Anthony Mackie and the Winter Soldier star Sebastian Stan have both been known to troll Holland from time to time, the two also stake their names on Holland, saying that they want to see the British actor say in the MCU.

"We will always have little Tom right here, right here," Mackie told the publication, rubbing his heart. "Love you little Tom." Stan then added in a sing-song voice, "Tom, you are always on my mind. You are always on my mind."

There's a lot of love for Holland in the MCU. It would definitely be heartbreaking to see him go. We're hoping that Disney tries to work out renegotiations with Sony, and we're hoping that it finally pushes through.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is expected to receive its digital release sometime in October.
