Marcille is one of the most fan-favorite characters in Delicious in Dungeon, thanks to her over-the-top expressions. From Marcille turning into stone to losing Ambrosia to the frogs, here are Marcille’s most hysterical moments that stole the show in Delicious in Dungeon.
Marcille Argues with the Orc
In the fifth episode, Marcille and the others come across the orcs in the barter shop.
The orcs not only took their resources but also took them as hostages in their place, despite Senshi knowing the head orc.
Fortunately, the Orcs allowed Senshi and the others to cook for them.
While Senshi is busy doing his thing, Marcille argues with the head Orc about their stubborn, greedy, and power-hungry personalities.
The Orc refuses to give up against Marcille and so does the latter. They kept on arguing until Senshi finally finished cooking a delicious bread for the Orcs.
A Baraselia Hangs Marcille Upside Down
In episode 1, Marcille and the others encounter man-eating plants along the way. Laios reminds Marcille that not all man-eating plants consume and digest humans; some attack humans for compost.
Since Marcille is an all-knowing elven mage, she resolved to take on the task of wiping out the plants using magic.
Senshi intervened before she could do anything, fearing that she would injure the plants' fruits.
That's when one of the Baraselias lifts Marcille off the ground and hangs her upside down.
Worse, Laios said that the Baraselia vines may plant seeds in Marcille's flesh as long as they are tied to her. Yikes!
Marcille Snatches the Basilisk Egg
Marcille is in trouble again, but this time it's because Senshi wants them to try eating the Basilisk's egg in episode 2.
As it turns out, Marcille and the gang are wandering close to the basilisk's nest. After Marcille retrieved one of the eggs, the basilisk reappeared.
As expected, the Basilisk pursues Marcille, as Laios and the others watch from behind. She runs furiously everywhere, refusing to let go of the egg in her grasp!
Marcille and the Screaming Mandrake
Marcille is traumatized once more in the second episode because of her pride and ego as an elven mage.
When the group comes upon a screaming mandrake, Marcille recommends using a dog to extract it from the ground.
Because there is no dog around, they can't truly implement Marcille's proposal, so they have to follow Senshi's instructions instead.
This upsets Marcille, who prefers to use her textbook method. She attempted to harvest the mandrake on her own, hoping to use the large bats in the area.
It was effective, but Marcille never expected the enormous bat to assault her in the process.
Marcille Fights the Undine
Marcille’s unfortunate encounters happen again in episode 8, when she comes face-to-face with a raging Undine.
While Laios and the others did their thing, Marcille went and poured boiling water into the lake, resulting in the emergence of an Undine.
Marcille tried her best to fight the Undine, but her mana was rapidly depleting.
It took a lot of effort from the gang to save her before anything bad happened to her.
Marcille Makes a Soap for Senshi
Funny, Marcille can’t use magic on Senshi because of his slippery and oily hair, beard, and body.
Since Senshi hates using magic for practical purposes, he refuses to take a bath so Marcille can use magic on him.
Following the Kelpie’s death, Marcille uses the Kelpie’s fat to make soap for Senshi.
While Senshi was busy preparing Kelpie’s meat, Marcille tried her best to mix and concoct the soap for Senshi.
In the end, Senshi appreciated Marcille’s efforts, and he allowed her to wash him.
Marcille Turns into Stone
Marcille encounters a cockatrice in episode 15 while she tries to find her way out of the area. After all, the dungeon’s structure continues to change, trapping Marcille and the others in a loop.
During one of their attempts, Marcille and the others come across Cockatrice without Laios, who has mana sickness.
Marcille attempted to accomplish what Laios did with the basilisk in the past, but it bit her in the process.
Later, Marcille turns into stone because of the cockatrice’s bite. It’s a good thing Laios managed to turn her back before Senshi could use her for cooking purposes.
Marcille Losing Ambrosia to the Frogs
Marcille’s staff is named Ambrosia. She always keeps it near her since it’s one of her main weapons when she casts magic spells.
However, Marcille loses Ambrosia to the frogs in episode 10, following Laios’ sword, Kensuke.
To get it back, Senshi and Laios came up with a silly plan to make it through the tentacle vines that prevented them from descending.
What is their plan? Well, Laios and Senshi forced Marcille to wear the silly frog suit to retrieve their weapons.
Marcille Fights the Mad Magician
Following the Red Dragon’s death, Marcille uses the Dark Arts once again, not to bring Falin back from the dead but to fight the Mad Magician who suddenly appeared in front of them.
She was the team's only hope of fending off the Mad Magician's onslaught, but even with her understanding of the forbidden arts, she could only do so much to protect her teammates, even Falin.
Still, it was a sight to behold, as Marcille did her best to deal with the Mad Magician, who was clearly superior to her.
Every Time Senshi Asks Marcille to Eat Monster Cuisine
This list would not be complete without mentioning one of Delicious in Dungeon's running gags.
Every time Senshi urges Marcille to try his monster cuisine, her appalled expression takes over the show.
Regardless of the creatures Senshi cooks, Marcille will always have a strange expression on her face, not masking her genuine feelings at all.
