Manga Plus has existed only as a free service for the longest time. This changes today as Shueisha finally launched a new Manga Plus subscription service with two tiers.

Previously, Manga Plus had a free promo where readers could access all chapters of ongoing manga once. Readers had to subscribe to Viz Media’s Shonen Jump service to reread these titles.

With the new subscription service, manga readers can finally access a wide range of Shueisha titles through one app.

The first of the two subscription tiers is the Manga Plus Standard Plan. This plan gives subscribers unlimited access to all chapters of 80 ongoing manga that are serialized on Manga Plus.

These include Shonen Jump titles like One Piece, Young Jump series like Oshi no Ko, and even Jump SQ manga such as Blue Exorcist.

Manga Plus’ Standard Plan is priced at USD 1.99 monthly in the US and other selected countries. Meanwhile, countries like India and the Philippines will only need to pay USD 0.99 per month.

Meanwhile, Manga Plus also has a Deluxe Plan which features more titles. Specifically, this plan has 190 titles available consisting of both ongoing and finished manga.

With this, readers can access all chapters of completed manga like Naruto, Demon Slayer, and more with no restrictions.

Of course, the price for this plan is more expensive. Readers in the US, Canada, and other countries will need to pay USD 4.99 monthly.

Meanwhile, India, the Philippines, and other regions will have a USD 3.99 subscription cost.

Manga Plus is currently available in most of the world, excluding Japan as Shonen Jump+ is free in the country.

This new subscription is also seemingly available worldwide as it is being promoted on the platform’s official English social media pages. There’s no complete list of countries when looking at the app.

From the looks of it though, the Manga Plus service is available in more regions compared to Viz Media’s Shonen Jump app. Thus, it’ll be interesting how this new service will affect Viz Media’s offering.

Manga Plus: Existing Free Plan Will Not Be Affected

Given that the new subscription service is now live, some readers are wondering if this will affect the existing free plan.

Thankfully, the Manga Plus free plan will still be available, meaning fans can still read the first and last three chapters of ongoing manga such as Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family for free.

What’s more, the First Read Free promo is still available on the app. This app-exclusive promo allows users to read all chapters of selected ongoing manga for free, but readers can only access each chapter once.

To re-read, at least fans now have an option of buying a subscription. Much like the First Read Free promo though, the subscription service is only available through the app.

At least, the Manga Plus website will still be up and will have no changes. This means readers can still access the latest chapter of ongoing serialized titles on their desktop.
