Legion Season 3 Teaser Shows Young Charles Xavier Creating Cerebro

It's certainly disappointing that Legion Season 3 will be the last one for the FX series. Nevertheless, it looks like the show is planning to go out with a big bang. The new teaser for the final season offers a better look at the young Charles Xavier (Harry Lloyd) as he creates Cerebro.

Fans already got a fleeting glimpse at the young Charles in the Legion Season 3 trailer where he is shown putting on the helmet and screaming in terror. The new teaser expands on that scene but also gives us some more details about David Haller's mysterious father.

The promo opens with David (Dan Stevens) stating that "I had a dad, he was probably a mutant like me." (No kidding, David). We are then shown Charles speaking to a lady asking him if there are "others." Although it is not openly declared, the two appear to be talking about mutants. "I don't know," Charles says and the scene immediately swings into Charles working on Cerebro.

"This monster was his enemy," David continues, now referring to the Shadow King. "Somehow the monster was watching and he found me, and like a haunted house, possessed me." We are then left with a shocked Charles lost in a vision as David asks, "Why?"

There is little doubt that the final season of Legion will try to explore why the Shadow King chose David instead of Charles. In addition to that, we may finally see if David can win over the villain or succumb to evil.

Legion Season 3 will air on FX on June 24.
