Laurence Fishburne Confirms MCU Return in Upcoming Series

Laurence Fishburne made his MCU debut back in 2018 when he played Bill Foster, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne's former colleague, in Ant-Man and the Wasp. However, since then, we still have not seen him again in the franchise. Now, it looks like his MCU comeback has been set in stone at one of the upcoming shows.

In an interview with journalist Brandon Pope, Fishburne revealed that he will be making his MCU return in the upcoming second season of the animated series What If...? He is reprising the role of Bill Foster, who will be taking the moniker of Giant Man in his episode.

The John Wick: Chapter 4 star is among the returning MCU actors who will be appearing in the second season of What If...? alongside the likes of Cate Blanchett, Rachel Weisz, and Elizabeth Olsen. Jeffrey Wright is also back to voice The Watcher, the main character/narrator of the series.

Meanwhile, Fishburne's Ant-Man and the Wasp co-star Hannah John-Kamen, who plays Ghost, is confirmed to return in the upcoming film Thunderbolts as one of the members of the titular team. However, the actor's live-action return in the MCU has not been set yet as he was notably absent in Quantumania.

Marvel Studios has kept most of the details on the upcoming season under wraps although they revealed that one of the episodes will feature an original MCU hero named Kahhori. She will be showcased in an episode where the Tesseract crash-lands in the Haudenosaunee Confederacy in pre-colonial America.

It is great to hear that Fishburne is set to appear in an upcoming MCU project even if it's just an animated series. Nevertheless, his presence in the franchise has been missed and, hopefully, this will lead to his eventual comeback in the live-action world at some point in the future.
