Liv Tyler is finally returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Lord of the Rings star is set to reprise her role as Elizabeth "Betty" Ross in the highly anticipated Captain America: New World Order.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Liv Tyler will return in Captain America 4 where she will reprise her role as Betty Ross. This will be the first time Tyler will return to the MCU after playing Betty in 2008's The Incredible Hulk which starred Edward Norton as Bruce Banner.
This is great news for fans who have been hoping to see Liv Tyler as Betty Ross all over again. Unfortunately, she will not be able to reunite with the late William Hurt who originally played Betty's father Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross in The Incredible Hulk. Instead, Harrison Ford will take over the role in Captain America 4.
Liv Tyler is not the only star of The Incredible Hulk who will show up in the fourth Captain America film. It was previously confirmed that Tim Blake Nelson is reprising his role as Samuel Sterns aka Leader from the 2008 movie. It has not yet been revealed whether Tim Roth, who appeared in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, will be brought back as Emil Blonsky aka Abomination. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
Captain America: New World Order will star Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka the new Captain America. He will be joined by The Falcon and The Winter Soldier co-stars Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly who will reprise their respective roles of Joaquin Torres and Isaiah Bradley. Shira Haas is set to debut as Sabra in the sequel.
For now, Captain America 4 has not yet been given an official production start date. However, the MCU sequel is already scheduled for theatrical release on May 3, 2024.
