What the Lanterns Midseason Trailer Hints At?
The Lanterns midseason trailer picks up after the events of the first five episodes of the season, putting the mystery of Hal’s apparent death front and center.
The clip jumps between the past and present as John searches for answers amid the new threats he has to face.
The trailer opens with Hal and John meeting after the epic battle in Rushville. As is evident from John’s mustache and beard, the meeting probably occurs in 2026, and Hal is still alive.
As their complicated relationship unfolds, the events that lead to Hal’s apparent death are revealed, with John starting to investigate what really happened to Hal with the help of Sheriff Kerry Kane (Kelly McDonald).
As the perpetrator remains unknown, Kerry believes “it could be anyone,” as the whole town “wanted to kill” Hal.
The next scene features Guy Gardner’s (Nathan Fillion) arrival, promising John that he will help him with the murder investigation while he is behind bars.
But the major surprise is a hint that Hal may not actually be dead, as John interrogates Sinestro (Ulrich Thomsen). Another scene shows Hal asking a mysterious figure, “What are you?”, seemingly teasing that he is alive and has been captured.
As things get pretty intense, Noah Macon (Cary Christopher) appears on the football field where Hal is found dead, teasing that there may be more to Zoe’s (Poorna Jagannathan) grandson than just being a normal kid. Is he another Manhunter hiding in Rushville?
As the fight continues, it looks like Lanterns’ last three episodes will solve the mysteries surrounding the Manhunter, Hal’s death, and Sinestro’s involvement in all of this.
Did Noah Kill Hal in Lanterns?
Sure, Noah is just a kid. But again, there is something mysterious about this innocent-looking little boy.
The trailer for the upcoming Lanterns Episode 6 made several revelations about Hal’s death. As the 2016 timeline ended with the battle against the Manhunter Zoe, it was revealed that Hal returned to Rushville in 2026 for Kerry.
While the reason for his visit is unknown, Hal may have wanted to check on his old friend following the death of her dad, William (Garret Dillahunt), and stepmom, Zoe, who protected her.
The next scene then shows Hal’s autopsy report, with the doctor revealing to John that his Green Lantern partner did not fight back and simply accepted his fate.
By the looks of it, Hal was probably killed by someone he knew and did not want to fight. If so, it could either be Kerry or Noah.
But while the whole town of Rushville may have wanted to kill Hal, Noah could be the most likely suspect, especially after his grandma Zoe told him to remember everything she had told him.
