Kumail Nanjiani: Eternals Will Show Us the Beginnings of the MCU

Silicon Valley's Kumail Nanjiani has joined the MCU to be in Eternals, and we had some big reveals for the film at D23 last weekend. Though we have no official synopsis for the film, Nanjiani gives us a good overview of when exactly in the MCU timeline the film takes place.

Talking to Entertainment Tonight, Nanjiani explains, "It really is about the beginnings of the Marvel universe, so we're telling a story... [Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige] says spans thousands of years… Before, you know, Captain America was the oldest member we've seen and now, it's going to be way, way, way back so it really going to be the building blocks of the MCU."

Admittedly Eternals is one of the more obscure Marvel properties, but if the MCU can make Guardians of the Galaxy a hit franchise, then I'm sure they can work the same magic with Eternals; some even consider this their second jab at The Inhumans after the failed ABC show.

We only know bits and pieces about Eternals, but we do know that the gigantic Celestials will be playing a part in the film. There were also rumors going around that we might find a young Thanos as well, back when Titan was still a thriving planet. This is just my guess, but maybe we'll get to see the creation of the Infinity Stones and find out how they got to their specific places when the MCU ‘began.'

Eternals is set to come out next year on Nov. 6, 2020.
