Why is Jean Grey Able to Use Cerebro in X-Men '97?
Aside from Professor Charles Xavier, Jean Grey has long been thought of as the only one who can use Cerebro without repercussions.
But as proven in the comics, anyone with psychic powers can use the machine. However, those with lesser minds experience a psychic shock after using it.
Of course, Jean Grey (voiced by Jennifer Hale) is one of the select few who can use Cerebro without the painful shock. This is because Jean Grey is an evolved mutant and has powerful abilities in telekinesis and telepathy. Not to mention, her powers have ben further enhanced by the Phoenix Force's cosmic energies.
It's also worth noting that Jean Grey was the first official student of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. She was also the first mutant that Professor X tested Cerebro on.
Xavier also had Jean Grey in the room when he calibrated Cerebro. By doing so, the machine was able to accustom itself to powerful mutants like Jean Grey.

What Did Jean Grey See in Cerebro?
In X-Men '97, Cyclops (voiced by Ray Chase) distracts Henry Gyrich while Jean Grey uses Cerebro to infiltrate his mind.
She sees Gyrich talking to someone about making backups of Master Mold. Suddenly, her vision is interrupted by someone else that has entered her mind.
She falls into a pit wearing her X-Men uniform. At first, she worries about her pregnant belly. In the distance, she hears a baby crying and suddenly the baby is in her hands. She then sees a horrible future destroyed by a gigantic Master Mold.
This horrifies her and she yanks off the helmet from her head. She tells her husband that they need to stop Trask.
The X-Men then flies to the coordinates of Trask's location in the Sahara Desert.
