Now that Venom has come and gone, Sony is hoping that the upcoming Morbius movie is just as successful if not more. Fans everywhere were shocked to see the anti-hero make so much money but that's the power of ‘90s comic book nostalgia. We've also been curious about how Jared Leto will look as The Living Vampire, with the actor recently teasing how he'll look.
The only clue he offers on Instagram is that this version of Morbius will have long hair, which isn't a problem. If anything, this adds to his vampiric look and should make for some fun, dramatic shots. Leto doesn't appear to have any makeup on to make him look like the title character, so this is either an early shot where he hasn't experimented on himself yet or that will be added in post-production.
Based on the Spider-Man supporting character of the same name, the Sony film will reportedly take place in the same cinematic universe as this past year's Venom. Details for the film's story are still under wraps but will also reportedly include Morbius' friend-turned-foe Loxias Crown in some capacity.
Sony's Morbius stars Jared Leto as the titular character, Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft and Jared Harris. The film will hit theaters on July 31, 2020.
