The new spy thriller series The Copenhagen Test is a hit among its viewers, prompting questions about whether it has already been renewed for a second season.

Since its premiere last weekend, the series has attained success on Peacock as it topped its viewership chart. Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera's involvement is cited as the reason why audiences have been supporting and enjoying the new series, especially in the midst of the holiday season, when people are looking for something to binge-watch.

Is The Copenhagen Test Already Renewed for Season 2?

In an interview with Deadline, showrunner Thomas Brandon was asked whether there are already discussions for The Copenhagen Test to get renewed for a second season.

With the first season finale setting up a tease on what fans could expect in the next season, he confirmed that the project was always conceived as an ongoing series, and they already have ideas on what the second season might look like.

"Yes. There’s been a thought there, but it’s just thoughts. But yeah, it was always designed as an ongoing series, so there are plans and ideas and hopes for what a second season could be," he said.

However, Brandon did not reveal any details about when we can expect some news regarding the decision on the renewal, since it's only been days since the entire first season premiered on Peacock.

For now, fans should wait for more news and updates regarding the future of the series in the coming weeks, but so far, the reactions from viewers have been mostly positive, and there is an indication that people are interested in seeing more in the future.

What is The Copenhagen Test About?

The Copenhagen Test follows first-generation Chinese-American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale (Liu), who realizes his brain has been hacked, giving the perpetrators access to everything he sees and hears. Caught between his shadowy agency and the unknown hackers, he must maintain a performance 24/7 to flush out who’s responsible and prove where his allegiance lies.

Aside from Liu and Barrera, the cast also includes Sinclair Daniel, Brian d'Arcy James, Mark O'Brien, Kathleen Chalfant, Christine Noble, Christo Graham, Marnie McPhail, Saul Rubinek, Adina Porter, Lauren Tom, and Adam Godley.

All eight episodes of the first season are currently available to stream on Peacock. Each episode is around one hour long. James Wan is involved as one of the executive producers.
