In a recent interview on All Out With Jon Dean, Jim Parsons opened up about his experience working on The Big Bang Theory, where he admitted that he felt "miserable" looking back at that time.
"I look back now and realize that there were many ways, at some of the best moments of my life, I was miserable. I was not happy. I was stressed," he said.
"I felt that there was so many plates I was supposed to be keeping in the air, and that the success and the good things of life that were happening were only due to this overworking discipline."
As a result of his experience working on The Big Bang Theory, Parsons has shot down the possibility of reprising the role in a potential revival series.
"I wouldn't do that again for any amount of money, just because it was stressful and miserable at times. I made myself miserable," he admitted.
"I had a list of things basically in my head that I had to get done in order to be comfortable and know that I could do my job right, which I don't think was true. I missed tons of life."
Parsons last played his iconic character in the final episode of Young Sheldon, where he appeared in flashforward sequences that showed Dr. Sheldon Cooper's life years after the events of The Big Bang Theory.
While he is unlikely to reprise the role in a revival series, it remains unknown whether he is open to playing a different version of the character in the multiversal-set spinoff series Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, which will incorporate characters from the main series.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe follows comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, who is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon.
Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don’t go well.
The main cast includes Kevin Sussman (as Stuart Bloom), Lauren Lapkus (as Denise), Brian Posehn (as Bert), and John Ross Bowie (as Barry Kripke).
The series will premiere on July 23 at 9:00 pm ET on HBO Max. New episodes will be released weekly every Thursday. The first season will consist of ten episodes.
