Following Tom Holland's on-set concussion while filming, fans have been wondering whether it will affect the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in the summer of next year.

As reports indicated, the star suffered a mild concussion while filming a stunt sequence last Friday. He was taken to the hospital and told to recuperate for days. Production has paused for one week to give Holland time for recovery. With the brief delay, concerns have now arisen about whether the film will be able to complete shooting in time for its summer 2026 release.

Is Spider-Man: Brand New Day Delaying Its Release After Tom Holland's Concussion?

According to Deadline, Holland's recent injury on set is NOT expected to impact the release date of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

The highly anticipated MCU film is still scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026. Production has been ongoing since late July, when several set photos from its outdoor shoot in Glasgow, Scotland, trended online.

The project has paused production for a week to give Holland time to recuperate from the concussion, and there are no plans to film around him. It is currently set to resume on Monday next week, September 29.

The injury took place on the film's set in Pinewood Studios in London. Holland was examined in the hospital, but not admitted. No other crew members or cast members were injured during the filming of the stunt.

So far, Holland has not released any statement since reports of his on-set concussion made waves online last weekend.

What to Expect in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Just like any other MCU film, the plot details regarding Spider-Man: Brand New Day are under wraps. It is expected to take place some time before the events of Avengers: Doomsday.

Aside from Holland, the cast also includes Zendaya (MJ), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal (The Punisher), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Michael Mando (Scorpion), Liza Colon-Zayas, and Tramell Tillman.

Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi) is directing the film. The Jackie Chan Stunt Team is involved in choreographing the fight sequences. It is currently set to be the next MCU movie release after The Fantastic Four: First Steps last July.
