Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to be the last film of the franchise and from James Gunn helming the guardians altogether. With its destined heartbreaking storyline involving Rocket the raccoon’s past emerging from the shadows, the threequel potentially serves as a farewell to seeing the group together in their own film. Now, the question is, is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 safe for kids to watch?
Disney recently confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be maintaining a PG-13 rating, just as its previous two films have. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rating was given due to “intense sequences of violence and action, strong language, suggestive/drug references, and thematic elements.”
It’s no secret that since this is bound to be the franchise’s last film, the third volume would end with a bang, as previously promised by Drax actor Dave Bautista, “It’s very emotional. It’s emotional, it’s dark, and it’s deep and it’s inspiring. I think this is going to be special… I haven’t seen it and I had always feel like that every time. I thought Guardians would be the best, or Guardians 2 would be the best. And after reading [Guardians 3] script, and after being on this film and filming it, it’s just so much better.”

Apart from its PG-13 rating, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 also set the record for potentially being the longest film in the trilogy. According to Gunn in a comment section on his Instagram, the third film is “longer than Vol. 1 and Vol. 2”, both of which ran between 2 hours and 17 to 17 minutes, which pins Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 between 2 hours and 30 minutes up to 3 hours at most.
Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is slated to premiere on May 5 this year!
