While Winter 2023 has begun, some are already looking ahead to Spring 2023 as that season will bring lots of anticipated shows. One of them is Insomniacs After School, which recently got a release date via a new trailer and key visual.
The anime’s new trailer and key visual were shared via its official channels, giving fans of the manga source material a look at what to expect.
These also came with more details about the anime, including more cast member reveals.
Insomniacs After School Trailer, Story
The anime was initially announced way back in early 2022, so it took quite a while before we got a more extensive look at this upcoming highly anticipated romance anime.
Its latest trailer gives us a taste of what to expect, and we get to hear the show’s main characters, Ganta Nakami and Isaki Magari, voiced by Gen Sato and Konomi Tamura, respectively.

Many anime fans are excited about the show because of its interesting premise and source material.
This show is based on the ongoing manga of the same name that’s praised for its character development and wholesome story.
It follows Ganta Nakami, an insomniac who tries to get some sleep at his school’s abandoned astronomical observatory. There, he meets Isaki Magari, another insomniac with the same plan.
Soon, the two become friends and use the observatory as a space to spend time and cope with their insomnia. They soon also help reestablish the school’s astronomy club.

Insomniacs After School Key Visual, Release Date
While the trailer is the highlight among the new announcements, the anime’s key visual is also a treat for fans of the source material.
It features the two insomniacs in their respective beds at night, but instead of sleeping, they’re wearing earphones and possibly talking to each other.
The anime also revealed new members of its voice cast, including:
- Haruka Tomatsu (Asuna in Sword Art Online) as Yui Shiromaru
- Seiichiro Yamashita (Cid Kagenou in The Eminence in Shadow) as Tao Ukegawa
- Lynn (Miorine in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury) as Motoko Kanikawa
- Natsumi Fujiwara (Damian in Spy x Family) as Kanami Anamizu
- Sumire Morohoshi (Kyouka Izumi in Bungou Stray Dogs) as Mina Nono
- Mamiko Noto (Sawako in Kimi ni Todoke) as Usako Kurashiki
- Sho Karino (Chifuyu Matsuno in Tokyo Revengers) as Rui Haida
Insomniacs After School will be released in Japan in April 2023. Right now, there’s no word yet on where it will be streamed outside Japan.
