All Hell’s Paradise Arcs in Order
Hell’s Paradise follows a ninja assassin named Gabimaru who is sentenced to death after the betrayal of his ninja clan.
The story of Hell’s Paradise is divided into four arcs and they are as follows:
Island Arc
The Island Arc comprises Chapters 1 through 16 and is the opening arc of the series.
Gabimaru, who is sentenced to death survives many horrendous forms of execution because he is just unkillable.
Then a decapitator named Yamada Asaemon Sagiri appears to do the job. However, she also has an offer that he can’t refuse.
Sagiri informed Gabimaru that he could be free of his crimes and lead a peaceful life with his wife if he agrees to go on a dangerous mission.
Gabimaru accepts the offer to set out on a journey to a mysterious island to get the Elixir of Life for the shogun.
However, he needs to compete with other criminals who also desire to be pardoned.
Moreover, the island is filled with deadly beings who are just as violent as these criminals.
Lord Tensen Arc
Chapters 17 through 59 form the Lord Tensen Arc with 43 chapters.
In this arc, Gabimaru, Sagiri, and the rest come across two natives of the island named Mei and Hoko.
Gabimaru and company learn that the Elixir of Life is guarded by the seven immortal rulers of the island called Lord Tensen.
They are extremely powerful and an immediate threat to the criminals and their executioners.
On the mainland, the shogun is getting impatient with the first group.
He orders his men to send another team to the island to get the elixir.
Horai Arc
The third arc of Hell’s Paradise manga has 51 chapters. The Horai Arc starts in Chapter 60 and ends in Chapter 110.
The surviving criminals and executioners are aware of how dangerous the island is.
They decide to join forces in order to beat Lord Tensen, get the Elixir of Life, and get out of the island.
However, things go south when the second team arrives and one of the members of Lord Tensen named Zhu Jin tries to take over Horai.
Departure Arc
The fourth and final arc of Hell’s Paradise is the Departure Arc, with 16 chapters.
The plot of the last arc leads to the climax of the series.
The Zhu Jin-fused Banko is destroyed and the remaining members of the first and second teams get their hands on a ship.
They decide to leave the island and try to stop Rien from getting to Japan and destroying the nation.
Where to Start Reading Hell’s Paradise
Hell’s Paradise is spread across 127 chapters, and you can start reading the manga from Volume 1.
The plot of Hell’s Paradise usually moves linearly with a few flashbacks, and it is advised to read the manga from Chapter 1 through Chapter 127.
The manga series ended with Chapter 127, which came out on January 25, 2021.
Meanwhile, a special one-shot, titled Forest of Misfortune, was released on April 8, 2023.
The Hell’s Paradise manga chapters are collected in 13 volumes and the last volume came out on March 15, 2022.
