Hayden Christensen recently addressed his potential return as Anakin Skywalker in Ahsoka season 2.

There have been rumors for the past few months that the Star Wars vet will be reprising his iconic role again in the hit series' second season, which is currently in the works.

So far, Lucasfilm has not confirmed Christensen's return in the next season, but fans are hoping that he and Rosario Dawson will share scenes again and explore more of Anakin and Ahsoka's relationship.

In a recent interview, Christensen was asked whether he will be making his return as Anakin Skywalker in Ahsoka season 2.

As expected, he didn't confirm his involvement, but he pointed out that the final scene of the first season implied that his character still has a connection with Ahsoka Tano.

"Look, as to whether or not we see Anakin again, I don't know. But as evidenced by that last shot of the series, he’s with her in spirit, and they continue to have this connection," Christensen said.

Dawson also added that the series has shown that her character has a lot of holograms of Anakin Skywalker, paving the way for more potential appearances in season 2.

"I will just say that as she puts on that hologram of him, you see that there's several of them. So I think there's that potential. But I love, also, not just being relegated to those messages and things that we might be able to see more of in the future," she explained.

"We've gotten to see from the films now into the show that he's been able to become this force ghost that brings him back to Anakin, who at the end of the day, when he went and ascended to that space, that's what he became."

There is no doubt that fans would love to see Christensen return as Anakin Skywalker in the second season, and while the character has died in the show's timeline, there are still ways for them to bring him back.

As we've seen in the first season finale, Anakin is now showing up as a Force ghost around Ahsoka and he could be her guidance as she and Sabine Wren are exploring their new life in Peridea.

For now, let's wait and see whether Christensen does end up becoming part of Ahsoka season 2, but signs are showing that is more likely than not.
