Since the airing of Ahsoka late last year, fans have been wondering whether the hit Star Wars series will be renewed for a second season especially as the finale ended on a massive cliffhanger.
There have been rumors that Lucasfilm was planning to continue the series for another season. Creator Dave Filoni was also mum on the details surrounding his plans for the future of the series when he was asked in an interview.
Now, after months of speculation and waiting from fans, we finally have the news that we've been waiting for surrounding the show's future.

Ahsoka Season 2 is Officially In Development
Lucasfilm confirmed that the second season of Ahsoka is in development with Filoni spearheading the project once again.
The news was made official during the studio's announcement of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie directed by Jon Favreau and also co-produced by Filoni.
There are no details yet regarding its production start date, release window, and whether the entire cast and crew from the first season will return.
In a recent interview, Rosario Dawson revealed that she wasn't sure yet about the future of the series as she has not heard any plans for the potential second season.
"No. We're supposed to be having a dinner soon, of the whole cast, which will be really nice because I haven't seen everyone. I was very jealous seeing everyone at some of their cons recently, which I wasn't able to be at," she said during that time.
Now, we can officially say that a second season is now underway and we might be able to hear more news and updates in the coming months as Filoni is figuring out how he will continue the series and what the story of the next season will be.
Given that the first season finale ended on a massive cliffhanger, there are a lot of questions and mysteries that Filoni needs to address in the second season and potentially find a way to connect and set up the events of his MandoVerse movie, which is also currently in development.
The first season of Ahsoka is available to stream on Disney+.
