Hayao Miyazaki is an anime legend, there's no beating around the bush when it comes to that. He is responsible for some of the best anime movies ever made and is one of the reasons why Studio Ghibli is a household name for wheebs and kotakus alike. Sadly, fans in the West will be sad to know that Miyazaki isn't a fan of Hollywood movies and has attacked two huge franchises; Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones.
Kotaku has pointed out how an interview from a few years back has resurfaced in a number of Japanese blogs, where Miyazaki unleashes his anger towards the two movies mentioned above. It's really sad to see, though the man is entitled to his opinion.
Here are some of the excerpts from this interview:
So yeah, that's a lot of anger. Completely blaming America is a bit much though since Lord of the Rings was directed by a British Man and was shot in New Zealand. It's hard to call all of his criticisms valid but the guy isn't a Nazi at least.
What do you think of Hayao Miyazaki's opinions?
