More often than not, Marvel Studios refrains from using comic-accurate costumes in their projects because they tend to look goofy and don't translate well on screen. They do find a way to integrate the characters' actual look from the comics through various easter eggs (WandaVision is the best example) which is always a nice touch.
Now, Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista has expressed his desire to honor Drax's comic book roots and he is demanding James Gunn to give him a brand new look for Volume 3.
Dave was asked by a fan on Twitter if he'd be interested in wearing a costume similar to what his comic book counterpart sported in the comics. Gunn responded to the tweet and jokingly said that Drax's comic-accurate look is something that the former WWE superstar typically wears.
Bautista would then retweet the response and expressed his desire for Drax to wear actual clothes in GOTG Vol. 3. According to him, it would save the production a lot of money on makeup and prosthetics alone. Check out his cheeky response here:

It's no secret that Bautista is already growing tired of having to sit on a makeup chair for hours for his regular rounds of prosthetics while filming and he's expressed his grievances in previous interviews.
I guess he'd much rather wear a silly costume at this point than actually go through the grueling process of applying Drax's prosthetic skin which by the way is no joke. Well, there's still plenty of time for Gunn to reconsider so let's see if The Animal gets his wish.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 begins production in November.
