GOTG Director James Gunn Reveals The Pact He Made With Chris Pratt And Dave Bautista

It might sound like a surprise but it looks like Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn actually made a pact with his stars Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista when the first film was released and according to the filmmaker, the promise has actually held up over the years.

During the release of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Gunn was made to sit down with Pratt and Bautista for a question and answer session in an Apple store. Backstage, the trio had an awakening, promising each other that they would remain "down-to-earth, honest, and kind" even though they knew that the Marvel movie would eventually become a big hit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"It was at this show we could see [Guardians of the Galaxy] was going to be big," Gunn wrote in a tweet, "Backstage, Dave Bautista, [Chris Pratt], & I put our arms around each other & vowed to remain down-to-earth, honest, & kind no matter how our external worlds changed. I think 7 pray we've all 3 kept that promise."

Gunn, Pratt, and Bautista were right of course. Guardians of the Galaxy was a major hit for Marvel. The film received a lot of love from both fans and from critics. It also managed to bring in $773 million at the global box office.

Despite the controversy that once surrounded Gunn after an alt-right extremist dug up the filmmaker's old but inappropriate Tweets, Marvel brought the director back to work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 doesn't have a release date, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
