While most people have been concerned about what will happen next in Game of Thrones Season 8, George R.R. Martin seems to be more interested in what happens after the final season. The A Song of Ice and Fire author has just offered an update on the Game of Thrones prequel shows and just how many of them will be developed in the future.
Martin addressed the issue on Not A Blog, stating that he doesn't like the term "spinoffs" and offering an update on when the first prequel will begin production.
So this means there are still three "successor shows" to look forward to. Unfortunately, if you were hoping for the one that longtime Game of Thrones writer Bryan Cogman was working on, you're in for a major disappointment.
Cogman has confirmed that his own series will not be moving forward and that the second episode of the final season was the last thing he worked on for Game of Thrones. Nevertheless, we're hoping the three remaining shows will be as successful as the current HBO series.
