The end is drawing closer for Game of Thrones and people are simply looking forward to how the series will conclude. But is it possible that Season 8 will bring back a character that could confirm the truth about Jon Snow? There are speculations that Howland Reed will finally get a proper introduction in the final season.
Fans got a glimpse at Howland Reed in Game of Thrones Season 6 in the famed Tower of Joy scene where he joined the young Ned Stark in the search of Ned's sister. They faced and defeated Arthur Dayne together, so this suggests that Howland knew the truth about Jon Snow being the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. However, Howland has never been seen again. Could the older Howland finally show up in Season 8?
According to ScreenRant, Howland is an important character who needs to be brought back in the final season. As the report points out, it's highly unlikely that the Northmen will accept Bran Stark's claims about Jon since it's based on his own visions. On the other hand, Howland is a respected warrior who has first-hand knowledge about the truth.
Although we're hoping that the older Howland finally makes an appearance to back up Bran's claims, it's also unlikely that this will happen. After all, the series only has six episodes left and there's hardly any time to worry about the little things. Perhaps Bran's words will have to do in the final season and people will simply accept that Jon is actually a Targaryen. For now, we'll have to hope that things will work out well in the eighth season.
Game of Thrones Season 8 will premiere on HBO on April 14.
