How Does the Timeline in Frieren Work?
As Frieren goes on her quest to acquire magic and get to know humans, more time has passed than we ever expected in the series.
It’s only fitting to understand how the timeline works in Frieren and what it entails for the fate of the characters, like the members of the Hero’s Party and, of course, Fern and Stark.
Time, after all, is an important plot element in Frieren that reminds us of the elven mage’s journey.
As more time passes in the series, Frieren undergoes a personality change and even in perspective about the value of human life.
There’s no exact period when Frieren began, unlike other shows such as Castlevania: Nocturne, where we were given a specific date.
We can only narrow down the timeline of Frieren by the events that occurred before and after the Hero’s Party defeated the Demon King, which makes explaining easier.

Why Doesn’t Frieren Age?
Himmel, along with Heiter and Eisen, fully acknowledged that Frieren will have a very long life. In fact, they always said that the road ahead of Frieren would be so long that it would even be beyond their imagination.
Heiter even mentioned that Frieren most probably perceived fifty or a hundred years of her life as just another day to her!
While she continued her hobby of acquiring magic from all over the world, the rest of her comrades, except Eisen, aged like any ordinary human.
So, why doesn’t Frieren age? Well, Frieren is a near-immortal elf. The elves are believed to be able to live for thousands, perhaps millions, of years in the series’ lore.
Some say that their species mature quickly, but at a certain point, they will stop aging, which might explain the reason behind Frieren’s youthful appearance.
