Borderlands 3 is a week away and fans are pretty pumped for the shooter's return, especially with the promise of evil social media influencers and more than a billion guns to use on those Freddy Kruger knock-offs. In case you haven't pre-ordered the game yet, 2K has decided to subtly remind fans of the game by teaming up with Epic Games for a Fortnite crossover.
The latest update includes a crossover with 2K's popular shooter as the event, dubbed Fortnite X Mayhem, brings fans to Pandora for the first time in Fortnite history. While Borderlands is never named, likely due to the fact that it's an M rated franchise, the inclusion of Pandora, Psycho costumes, and Claptrap should be proof enough that this crossover is official.
Fans of both games should strike while the iron is hot since the crossover will only last until September 10, so if you want that Borderlands-themed loot, start playing now. Playing around in a Pandora-themed Rift Zone is great and should ensure that fans try out 2K's shooter when it comes out later in September.
Considering the popularity of both games, it's shocking to see a crossover like this happen. Then again, considering how Fortnite has crossed over with The Avengers of all franchises, it's clear that anything is possible (and money talks). Personally, both of these games aren't my cup of tea but I am pretty excited for those that are pumped up for this.
Fortnite is available now on pretty much every gaming console out right now, from Nintendo Switch to iOS. Borderlands 3 is coming out on September 13 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you pre-order Borderlands 3 on the Epic Games Store, you'll get the Borderlands cosmetics for Fortnite as a bonus.
