Ethan Hawke opened up about his love for Star Wars once again as he expressed his disappointment over not being part of the franchise.

It is no secret that the Oscar nominee has been a huge fan of Star Wars throughout the years and he's been open about wanting to play a major role in the franchise. Unfortunately, up to this day, Lucasfilm has not given him a call.

The actor already has experience starring in a major franchise as he co-starred in the MCU series Moon Knight, voiced Batman in Batwheels, and made a cameo appearance in one of the Knives Out films.

In a recent interview, Hawke addressed his love for the Harry Potter and Star Wars franchises and its comparison with his involvement in Richard Linklater's films.

He admitted that he always feels disappointed watching Star Wars as he has not been cast yet to play a Jedi character in the franchise.

"If you go see Harry Potter or Star Wars or something, which I’ve seen a million times, and I love them, but when they are over, I feel slightly disappointed that I’m not a wizard or not a Jedi," the Oscar nominee said.

"And I walk through my life thinking, 'I wish I were a Jedi.' And when you see a Richard Linklater film, you walk out feeling, ‘Well, I’ve done that. I’ve met a person, I’ve connected with another human being, and that was important, and that was magic.’"

There is no doubt that Hawke would be a great addition to the franchise since he is a talented actor as proven by his decades-long work in movies and TV and he has the gravitas to play a great Jedi character.

Fortunately for Hawke, Lucasfilm is developing multiple Star Wars projects so there are endless possibilities for them to cast him in the franchise and, hopefully, it will happen sooner rather than later.

After all, a lot of fans would love to see him participate in the franchise at some point and his potential involvement could excite a lot of people as he can level up the material that Lucasfilm might give to him.
