I think we call all agree that WandaVision was a pretty solid show overall and it pretty much set the bar real high for other Marvel spinoff shows to follow but some fans weren't too pleased with how the series concluded. Apart from the underwhelming "Luke Skywalker" cameo and the Ralph Bohner reveal which was deemed anticlimactic by viewers, a lot of people were taking issues with Wanda Maximoff not being reprimanded for her taking an entire town hostage to create her ideal reality.
Now, actress Elizabeth Olsen is sounding off almost two months after the show ended and according to her, despite the lack of punishment the Scarlet Witch received, she carried so much guilt for everything that transpired in Westview. Addressing the backlash the finale received for letting Wanda get off so easily, she explained: "She had to get away before the people who have to hold her accountable got there. And where she went is a place that no one could find her. Because she knows that she is going to be held accountable, and I think she has a tremendous amount of guilt."
I don't know about you but I genuinely believe that Wanda coming to terms with reality during the finale and the fact that she'll no longer be with her family is enough punishment for her and while I'm not trying to defend her actions, we all know that she only resorted to doing it to cope up with her grief and loneliness. When you think about it, she really didn't mean any harm although of course, she brought in chaos and fear.
Elizabeth Olsen is set to return as Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
