As we all know, Goku is far from being a demon. He is a proud member of the Saiyan species. However, there are moments when we see him with pointy ears, the kind usually seen on demons.

Dragon Ball Daima Episode 10 focuses on him and his mini companions traveling to the 2nd demon world. But before they can transition to this new realm, they must once again pass through Warp-sama, the massive sentient fish-like gateway. This marks their second encounter with the creature.

During their inspection, Supreme Kai touches Goku’s rounded ears, transforming them into pointy ones. Goku reacts as if he’s in pain, but it works, and soon after, they arrive in the lush and peaceful-looking second demon realm.

A similar scene happens in Episode 3 when Warp-sama inspects the group. In that instance, Supreme Kai also altered Goku’s ears, making them grow longer and sharper while Goku winces.

It’s already been established that Warp-sama is the only known passage to the demon realm. He is said to possess unimaginable power, which means no one can pass through without proper clearance, not even the mighty King Gomah.

Aside from the usual paperwork and codes, Warp-sama inspects the identity of those passing through. That’s why Supreme Kai has to give Goku pointy ears whenever they encounter the sentient gateway.

However, some fans have pointed out that Vegeta’s group seemed to travel through the demon realm without any issue, despite having rounded ears. It’s speculated that Goku’s disrespect toward Warp-sama, calling him names like “goldfish,” might have prompted the massive being to conduct a more thorough inspection.

Dragon Ball has been one of the most popular shounen titles for decades, introducing a wide range of characters, some loved and others not so much. Among them are characters with pointy ears.

It wasn't until Dragon Ball Daima Episode 1 that we learned pointy ears are a sign of being from the demon realm.

Some of the most obvious examples include the Majin race, with Majin Buu being a major antagonist in the past. It has also been confirmed that Namekians like Piccolo and the Glinds, such as Supreme Kai, are tied to the demon realm.

Other characters with pointy ears have appeared in previous series, such as Monaka from Dragon Ball Super, Tapion and Minotia from Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon, and possibly even some of Frieza’s special forces, who may reveal their demon heritage in the future.
