Demon Slayer’s Mist Hashira initially comes across as detached and emotionless, making him one of the most difficult hashira to approach. As the plot unfolds, though, Muichiro Tokito has many heartwarming moments in Demon Slayer that reveal his compassionate and tender side.

Muichiro Tokito has been through a lot in the series, from the death of his family to becoming a hashira at a young age.

In the Hashira Training Arc, Muichiro seems like he’s been reborn, as shown through his interactions with Tanjiro and the others, much to fans' delight.

  1. Muichiro Pinching Tanjiro’s Nose

In the third episode of Demon Slayer: To the Swordsmith Village Arc, Muichiro finds a sleeping Tanjiro and Nezuko.

He wanted to ask Tanjiro about a swordsmith named Kanamori so what better way to wake him up fast than to pinch his nose?

Of course, Tanjiro was surprised because he did not sense Muichiro’s arrival. Muichiro had no hostile feelings for Tanjiro, which is why Tanjiro didn't sense any danger around him.

It was a cute and heartwarming moment, which shows how childish Muichiro still is, despite the painful experiences he had in life.

Something about this scene is so cute that it’s understandable why everyone would want to replay it over and over again.

  2. Muichiro Says Nezuko Is Odd

Before Muichiro and Tanjiro deal with the creepy Hantengu, they both share a heartwarming moment with Nezuko.

While Muichiro never remembered meeting Nezuko before, he still feels he has seen her somewhere, making his interaction with Tanjiro’s sister even cuter.

The way Muichiro’s head tilts to watch Nezuko is so adorable and heartwarming, even though he thinks Nezuko is an odd creature, much to Tanjiro’s surprise.

After all, Tanjiro would not forgive anyone who would make bad remarks about his beautiful sister.

  3. Muichiro Saves Kotetsu

Kotetsu hated Muichiro for stealing Yoriichi Type Zero’s key, which he had taken care of all his life.

However, Kotetsu begins to see Muichiro in a different light after the Mist Hashira’s efforts to save him from Gyokko’s creepy monsters and to save Kanamori.

It’s heartwarming to see someone so close to Muichiro, as he always comes across as cold and aloof to others.

The way Kotetsu hugged Muichiro from head to toe is both funny and adorable as if Kotetsu were a leech or a caterpillar attaching himself to Muichiro.

  4. Muichiro Sees His Father

Before Muichiro obtains his demon slayer mark, he sees his father through a vision of Tanjiro, who compliments him on his efforts and bravery and tells him never to give up in the face of adversity.

As it turns out, Tanjiro has the same red eyes as Muichiro’s father, which is why Muichiro has a different feeling toward Tanjiro.

What’s more, Tanjiro even spoke the same words as his father, which reminds Muichiro of his lost memories.

While it was difficult to watch due to Muichiro being trapped in Gyokko’s water vase, it was still heartwarming to see Muichiro rise above his struggles and inner demons.

  5. Muichiro Thanks Tanjiro

The final episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc shows a happy reunion between the demon slayers and the hashira.

Mitsuri Kanroji hugged the entire group who fought the upper moons, while Nezuko also overcame the sun, making it a huge accomplishment without losing lives.

It was a wholesome celebration that even the cold and aloof Muichiro and Genya were present for.

Muichiro also expresses his gratitude to Tanjiro for being a huge help to him when he was fighting Gyokko.

  6. Muichiro Trains with Sanemi and Obanai

Even though the hashira are busy training the demon slayers in the morning, Muichiro, Sanemi, and Obanai find time to train together at night.

This is the first time we’ve seen Muichiro enjoying his time with the other hashira, despite feeling the pressure of the impending war against Muzan and his evil forces.

The sight of Muichiro talking with Sanemi and Obanai about Tanjiro also adds to the delightful experience of watching them together.

It’s heartwarming to see how Muichiro has changed, from preferring to train by himself to willingly joining the others to become stronger.

  7. Muichiro Has Fun Training Tanjiro

As mentioned, Muichiro has changed how he interacts with Tanjiro. Gone are the days when Muichiro would insult Tanjiro, for Muichiro has taken a liking to the hard-headed demon slayer.

Besides, they’ve fought battles in the Swordsmith Village together, which means they have something in common already, except for their traumatizing backstories.

Whenever Muichiro talks to Tanjiro, he has a huge smile on his face, even when they are training together.

It's funny how Muichiro changes his expression immediately whenever he addresses the other demon slayers.

  8. Muichiro’s Paper Plane Contest with Tanjiro

The fourth episode of Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc sees a different version of Muichiro.

His demeanor and tone have softened, even though he still has an intimidating air around him that most demon slayers struggle to deal with.

But with Tanjiro around, Muichiro smiles a lot, a huge contrast to their time in the Swordsmith Village.

He not only agreed to a paper plane flying contest, but he also interacted with the other demon slayers who were training under him.

When it was time to send their paper planes flying, it was almost as if these planes carried their hopes for the future.

It was an incredibly wholesome moment, making it one of the most memorable moments in the current arc.
