In a recent interview following his SDCC appearance, Evans opened up about his cameo appearance as Johnny Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine.

He shared how he was approached by Ryan Reynolds to reprise his Fantastic Four role and why he agreed to appear in the film.

"I was so excited. Ryan's a buddy. He just shot me a text saying, 'Listen, might be a long shot, but would you have any interest in reprising something from 20 years ago?' I said, 'Oh my God! Of course,'" the MCU vet said.

Evans explained that he wasn't hesitant to play Johnny Storm again in the film as he knew that Reynolds would give his return justice.

"Honestly, Ryan might be the only guy that I would've done it for because he's just got the Midas touch," he continued.

"His self-awareness makes him almost invincible. He makes the joke before the audience gets a chance to make the joke, so if you're going to revisit a character and you have to find a way to make it work, Ryan's humor makes just about everything work, so you feel an automatic sense of safety."

A lot of fans were happy to see Evans again in an MCU movie, even if it's not Captain America, since most of them wouldn't even think that he would play Johnny Storm again after all these years.

It's also a good cap-off for his pre-MCU superhero tenure and an acknowledgment of the Fantastic Four's contribution to Marvel movie history even if it's not a widely beloved film adaptation of the First Family.

Deadpool & Wolverine is now showing in theaters everywhere.
