Despite Milly Alcock's casting as Supergirl in James Gunn's rebooted universe, DC fans couldn't help but voice out their thoughts that Sasha Calle deserves another run at portraying the hero in the future of the franchise.
DC Fans Distraught At Sasha Calle's Short-Lived Supergirl Run
Considering that Sasha Calle's Supergirl run merely had a few minutes of screen time in 2023's The Flash, DC fans believe the actress should have another go at giving justice to her well-fit role.
Recently, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow's new titular hero will be played by House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock.
Although Calle wishes Alcock to "have so much fan" looking "so bada**" for DC, it is quite clear to fans that she should have reprised the part in James Gunn and Peter Safran's rebuilding DCU.
If anything, this sudden cast replacement only reminded them more of the firing The Witcher star Henry Cavill faced during his Man of Steel run in the franchise.
For the uninitiated, Cavill was supposedly reprising his Superman in Black Adam which would have led to seeing him join his cousin, (Calle's) Supergirl and Michael Keaton's Batman at the end of The Flash.
That, however, got scrapped for George Clooney's cameo, which essentially removed Cavill and Calle from their DCU alter-ego.
Recently, Milly Alcock was reportedly spotted at the US Open, already sporting her Supergirl blonde look ahead of the movie's filming scheduled in January.
According to reports, she may have filmed a few scenes for James Gunn's upcoming Superman: Legacy, set to grace the big screens on July 11, 2025.
Despite DC fans' attempt to hopefully bring back Sasha Calle for another chance at Supergirl, the former The Flash star had nothing but positive advice to offer Alcock once she takes the torch in 2026:
"Oh my God, have so much fun," Calle said, "You look so bada**. I love that. Just f***ing kill it. Have fun."
