Dark Phoenix Art Shows Jean Grey Going Full Captain Marvel in a Deleted Scene

If you've been keeping up with the news, you'll know that the ending of X-Men: Dark Phoenix was changed on a massive scale since it was too similar to that of Captain Marvel. Just in, we have some art from the film, and it has Jean going full "Super Saiyan" just like Carol Danvers did at the end of her movie.

Check it out:

Originally, the ending of Dark Phoenix would have had Jean go all out on a bunch of alien ships that would arrive in Earth's orbit—pretty much like how Captain Marvel took on the Kree fleet. What's more, the shapeshifting aliens in the film would have been Skrulls—the same aliens that were supposedly the "main antagonists" in Captain Marvel as well.

As it stands, Captain Marvel was once again a huge hit for the MCU, but Dark Phoenix is considered to be the disappointing closure of the Fox X-Men franchise. On the bright side, the characters are now welcome to make their debut in the MCU, but now it's just a case of when. At best, we would have to wait for at least five years before we can get the X-Men in the MCU.

Things could be looking up for the Fantastic Four though, as rumor has it that Marvel is ready to bring back their First Family sometime by 2022.

For now, MCU Phase 3 is set to close with the release of Spider-Man: Far from Home which hits theaters July 2. Dark Phoenix is still in theaters.
