There is little doubt that Daredevil Season 3 had several memorable scenes. However, most fans would agree that it is the epic 11-minute one-take fight scene in the fourth episode that truly ranks as the best. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Emmys agree. The incredible scene from the Marvel series was deemed ineligible for this year's Emmy award for Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited Series, or Movie for the most ridiculous reason.
Fans recently took to Twitter to complain about the scene from the episode Blindsided not being nominated for the Stunt Coordination category. However, it didn't take long for Season 3 showrunner Erik Oleson to explain why the fight sequence was disqualified in the first place. Take a look at his tweet below.
"The TV Academy would only allow a three minute clip, so, unfortunately, that epic oner was not eligible to be shown for stunts consideration," Oleson wrote.
That's right, the sequence was too long to qualify for the category. People were shocked that there was actually a time limit for Stunt Coordination clips and that the Emmy would turn down the lengthy scene. It's a depressing thought that the Daredevil stunt team will not even be considered for the Emmy simply because they had to follow Matt Murdock from inside an interrogation room all the way out of the prison.
The epic scene featured lead star Charlie Cox taking on several inmates as he fought his way out of the prison. You can watch a shorter cut of the sequence below.
Daredevil was cancelled by Netflix in November last year.
