Daredevil Had An Alarmingly Significant Drop In Viewership During Its Third Season

Things might not be looking too good for Daredevil. The viewership of the third season of the popular Marvel series is less than half than what the second season of Daredevil raked during its first week on Netflix and given the recent cancellation of Iron Fist and Luke Cage that might not be a good sign.

While Netflix keeps its viewing figures close to its chest, Screen Rant has managed to grab some data regarding Daredevil, one of the three Marvel Netflix series left alive after the streaming site decided to ax Iron Fist and Luke Cage. The publication just recently spoke with San Francisco-based analytics company Jumpshot, and it looks like season 3 of Daredevil hasn't fared so well in terms of viewership.

According to the company, viewership had dropped by 57 percent during the first week of Daredevil season 3, a sharp fall from the first weeks of the first two seasons of the series.

While the series is still outperforming the second seasons of Iron Fist and Luke Cage, this new trend seems rather alarming. Sure, Daredevil might be stronger than the canceled shows, but the drop in viewership seems too steep to turn an eye against.

If Iron Fist and Luke Cage were both canceled because of its lower social media impressions during both show's second seasons, then Netflix may be considering putting Daredevil on the back end too. Besides, with most of the series' loose ends all tied up, what direction should Daredevil turn to now?

Daredevil season 3 is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
