Edgerunners’ popularity has resulted not only in renewed interest in Cyberpunk 2077 but also saw lots of merch getting released. But the newly revealed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners x Cup Noodles collab is something that many fans likely didn’t expect.
Cup Noodles in Japan is no stranger to anime collabs, especially given its identity as the food of choice for otakus (just ask any Steins;Gate fan).
Now though, Cup Noodles went above and beyond for this new Edgerunners crossover.
Aside from sharing a cool new ad, the crossover also featured unique artwork. Though its references and heartwarming nature meant fans had to relive their grief all over again.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners x Cup Noodles Collaboration
Over the years, Cup Noodles Japan has collaborated with various anime titles and other otaku-related interests.
Last year, there was a crossover with the comfy anime series, Laid-Back Camp. There was even a One Piece commercial for the noodles a few years ago.
The latest collab is with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the anime series by CD Projekt RED and Studio Trigger which made waves back in September 2022.
As part of the collab, an advertisement was released to promote a new flavor.
Specifically, this new flavor is called Negi-Sio (or welsh onion and salt flavor).
Essentially, this is a variant of the peppery and smoky SIO Cup Noodle flavor, albeit with the addition of welsh onion for some extra flavor.
The advertisement itself is creative as it features striking visuals and a Sandevistan activation that are taken straight out of the anime.
Though what got even more attention from fans is the artwork of Lucy and David enjoying some noodles.

Cyberpunk Fans Are Moved to Tears
The official CD Projekt RED Japan Twitter account shared a special visual to commemorate the new collab.
It features Lucy and David, with Maine happily looking over in the background.
Fans spotted lots of cool easter eggs in this visual, including an ad for a moon flight, a reference to David and Lucy’s wish of going to space.
While this is a touching scene, fans were reminded of the characters' tragic fates at the end of the series, leading them to become sad again.
The show’s ending might mean the door is closed for a future season with the characters.
However, given its popularity, it’s possible that another Cyberpunk anime will be produced, though it will likely follow a different cast.
